Different people have different strengths. One of my strengths is to look at a project and work out the most cost effective way to make it while using quality materials and not compromising on quality.
Different lengths and thicknesses of timber are used for different projects.
Due to my initial training, years of experience, expertise and skills I’m able to work out what timber is required for a project while having minimal or no wastage. The easiest way I can describe it is similar to putting a jigsaw puzzle together.
I specialise in bespoke carpentry and joinery, this means that I don’t by a kit kitchen and assemble it like some tradespeople do. I look at your plans, the measurements and build from scratch – this is usually just as cost effective as a kit. Craftsmanship, using quality local materials that are cost effective, working together respectfully, making something to your specific design and measurements – these are things that a mass produced item doesn’t have.
Clients usually send me some inspiration photos, a plan and measurements. From there I work out the practical elements of the design and if anything needs altering, we work closely together. I don’t begin a project unless you have approved it and I definitely don’t take it upon myself to change a design half way through a project, there is no reason to.
I have long standing professional relationships with my building suppliers and always source the best quality materials for your project.
Did you know that timber is graded? I don’t use substandard materials.
If any materials get delivered that aren’t up to my standard they get returned and replaced (at no cost to you). This rarely happens but when it does building suppliers have been known to empty a shed for me to find the best quality specialty timber for a one of a kind bench top. My building suppliers understand the quality work that I do and take pride in supplying quality materials.
I shop around for the best price to keep your project as cost effective as possible.
I aim to get quotes back to you within seven working days.
Sometimes (not often) it takes up to two weeks because I am waiting on building suppliers to get back to me with a price, delivery date and availability.
It is important to me that quotes are done during business hours, not late at night , not on site while working on someone else’s project and not rushed.
Your project deserves my full attention and consideration which is why I always schedule time during my working week, take plenty of time to work out quotes and don’t skip over the finer details.
I’ve been living and working in the Huon Valley for over 15 years now.
Building long lasting respectful client relationships is important to me. It’s always a pleasure to work with returning clients and if you are a new client my hope is that you become a returning client too.
