Table Tops:

The Cypress tabletop is twenty one years old and used several times a day.

Solid timber tabletops (not veneer) are long lasting, and practical.

Some manufacturers and shops incorrectly call mdf with a veneer coating “solid timber”.

I only use the real thing – timber. Not mdf, not veneer, not a manufactured material that is made to look like timber.

Replacing the table top.

Tables – The base and legs are often pine but the table top is veneer. Manufacturers make the table top veneer to keep production/material costs lower, it also means the table is lighter which saves the manufacturer transport costs. Over time the veneer top cracks, chips, scratches easily and discolours.

I can replace your veneer table top with a beautiful timber table top which is what I have done in all the photos.

A new table top, paint the legs = refurbishing a table and keeping it out of landfill. This is a much more cost effective way to upgrade your table then going out and buying new.
