Hello,
If you are planning on doing some DIY, here are some tips:
Always use stainless steel or galvanised screws and nails outside. You are investing your precious time in a project, invest in the materials that will make your project last.
Painting. The good news is there is still plenty of opportunity to paint outside. Take into consideration the change of Autumn weather, damp mornings and it getting colder earlier. Read the paint can instructions, double check your weather forecast and allow plenty of time for your paint to dry.
Measure twice, cut once.
Power tools. Safety settings are there for a reason. Don’t be reckless and take them off.
A nurse once told me the busiest time in Accident and Emergency for DIY accidents is during public holidays and when people get power tools for gifts (eg. Christmas and Father’s Day).
We all have our strengths – play to yours. There is no shame in getting a professional tradesperson to do the work instead of trying DIY. You save time and money by paying a professional. And don’t we all want to save ourselves time to do the things we actually love doing like spending time with family, friends and taking time off.
