I make a range of double glazed timber windows (I can also make single glazed windows).
Double glazing is cost effective, energy saving, and adds capital to your home.
I’m really happy to make your double glazed windows all at once or in stages.
Either way, I’m happy to work to your design and schedule for when you would like to have your single glazing replaced with double glazing.

Replacing your windows in stages.
Replacing windows room by room has its advantages, and it means you don’t have all the upheaval either. Each set of windows can be replaced with minimal disruption to the day to day goings on in the home. Less cleaning too.
This is how we have double glazed our own cottage: Saved up, done one room at a time or one external door at a time. (We replaced solid wood doors with Tas Oak timber doors with double glazing especially to let the Autumn/Winter sunshine in.)
I have returning clients who are replacing their single glazed windows with double glazed windows. They are doing this in stages. Each time I have installed windows, I take the measurements for the next window they wish to replace. Every couple of months they contact me to do the next window, I calculate an estimate, they agree on the estimate, and pay a deposit for materials, I lock a date into my diary to start work. Once I complete the window, the client and I agree on an install day that mutually suits us.

Glazing above Tasmanian Oak door allows for privacy in bathroom plus borrows light from next room.
Double Glazing has been a well worth investment.
If you aren’t sure if double glazing is worth it, we have found it invaluable. It has cut our heating costs, the house stays warmer when the wood heater isn’t on and the home is also quieter (blocking a lot of outside noise). At the end of Winter 2023, we finally replaced the last single glazed windows in the lounge room with large double glazed windows. After that, we didn’t need to supplement the wood heater with our electric heater, which has resulted in a lower energy bill. Another benefit that we weren’t expecting is that when it is very windy or there is a storm, inside the house feels much calmer; because of the double glazing, we don’t hear the wind hitting the windows and the windows don’t rattle like they did with single glazing.
