Bench top details: How I make a bench top.
On a bench top the lengths of the timber I use are one length without any joins.
What does that mean? It means that I don’t join small pieces of timber together to make up the length.
The maximum length of a piece of natural timber (not fabricated/laminated/finger joined) that I can source is six metres.
Photos: The Tasmanian Oak kitchen bench top that runs the length of the wall under the windows is made from six metre long lengths of natural timber (not factory made).

Kitchen details:
Client design to maximise seating space and bench space. A very practical and well functioning layout for preparing and cooking meals.
The clients were originally going to paint the kitchen and only varnish the bench tops but once they saw the Tasmanian Oak cabinetry and the craftsmanship they decided to varnish the complete kitchen to show case the bespoke carpentry.
With thanks and appreciation to the clients for allowing me to photograph and share their new kitchen.
Until next time,
Michael
